Volunteer with Legacy K9 Search Team

At Legacy K9 Search Team, we rely on dedicated volunteers to help us carry out critical search and rescue missions. Our volunteers play an integral role in supporting our mission to provide emergency response services to those in need. We welcome dedicated individuals who are passionate about search and rescue to join our team. Our teams consists of K9 Handlers, Ground Searchers, and Support Personnel.

If you're ready we would love to hear from you. There are several ways you can contribute:

Time Commitment:
Members are required to attend regular training sessions, which take place 2-4 times per month. On-call time for actual searches may vary, depending on the frequency of missions.

Physical Requirements:
Members must be in excellent physical condition, capable of handling a working dog in various terrain and weather conditions. The role requires stamina for long periods of activity and the ability to lift or manage equipment and the K9 when necessary.

Financial Requirements:
Members may be asked to cover their personal travel and equipment expenses. Some funding options may be available through the team, but volunteers are responsible for their own gear. K9 handlers are responsible for the care and training expenses of their K9, including food, gear, and any necessary medical treatments. Some funding support may be available through the team, but most costs are borne by the handler.
